You are welcome to this website …
On this website CULTURE–POLITICS.INTERNATIONAL will find analyses on topics of political culture research. I would like to share with you my expertise in political science (habilitation), social and cultural sciences (doctorate in Slavic and Islamic studies) as well as from my 30 years of professional experience in political consulting (research institutes). My regional focus is on Europe (European Union, Eastern Europe, Balkans) and the neighbouring states in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). On this basis, I explore current issues in international politics and political philosophy.
This website offers three knowledge platforms: In TOPICS IN FOCUS I examine current topics from different perspectives. These include theories and methods as well as contemporary historical backgrounds, cultural-political contexts and global power structures. In contrast to (investigative) journalism, for example, science requires disclosure of the sources used, transparent theoretical approaches and convincing argumentation. Please use these knowledge offerings to form your own opinion, even independently of me and other experts.
More detailed analyses are published in the journal CULTURE POLITICS INTERNATIONAL which I founded in 2017. It offers translations into English, and thematically also into Russian, Arabic and Spanish. In the PUBLICATIONS I provide an insight into my publishing activities of recent years outside of this website. Finally, the DOCUMENTATION section I provide an insight into my publishing activities of recent years outside of this website.
One of the fundamentals of my academic work is the belief that open societies with a fair competition of ideas and theoretical approaches are capable of finding concepts and strategies to solve most social and political conflicts. A precondition for this, however, is an ethical commitment to the non-use of violence, to peace, to humanism and to international understanding. With this website, I would like to make my contribution to this.
One of the basic principles of my scientific work is the conviction that Open societies with a fair competition of theoretical approaches and social ideas can solve conflicts and end wars. Those who deny this possibility are usually arguing from their own interests. The prerequisite for a solution-oriented perspective is the will and the ethical commitment to non-violence, peace, humanism and international understanding. With this website, I would like to contribute to achieving this.
